To all the wonderful mums out there....

    Happy Mother's Day!

20% off everything today in my Etsy shop

I hope you all have a wonderful day - brekkie in bed (even if that means soggy cereal and lukewarm tea!) crafty cards made by your little ones, bouquets of chysanthemums (or crepe paper roses)....all of the little things that make Mother's Day so special.

To celebrate all the mums out there, I'm having a one-day 20% off sale, on everything in my Etsy shop. So if you'd like to treat your mum (or yourself!) head on over here and enter the code 'MOTHERSDAY' at checkout for your discount.

After a big week (which I'll tell you all about on Monday), I'm heading off to visit my lovely mum this afternoon. Hope you all have a great day with your loved ones, and I'll see you all tomorrow.

Belle Bijou

This new painting has been a long time coming. Sometimes, I start four or five paintings at once, and then finish them when the mood takes me. But as bright colour has been the order of the day lately, it was nice to put the finishing touches to this piece.

    'Belle Bijou'
    watercolour and gouache on paper
    8" x 10"
prints now available in my Etsy shop

I thought it would be fun this time to add some wallpaper to the room as well - what do you think? I'm thinking of adding another version without the wallpaper as well, for those who want to add this to their other 'Interior Portraits'.

Now that I have my internet back (for how long who knows, but I'm trying to make the most of it while it lasts) I'm planning on spending some time catching up on all my blog reading. I've missed all your news over the past few days, so I'm looking forward to reading all your posts.

    See you soon,

    Kerri

Last chance!

Just a quick reminder that today is the last day of the 20% off sale in my Etsy shop. Last orders will be posted tomorrow, and then I'll be taking a break until the 18th January. Thanks so much everyone for your overwhelming support, and I can't wait to share all my plans for the new year. I finished my very last original painting yesterday - a new addition to my blue and white Chinoiserie series:

Right, I'm off to finish decorating the house, ready for Christmas day. Thankfully, the pool is now finished and ready to go, and although the forecast is for rain, rain and more rain, it's actually a beautiful day here today. So I'm going to make the most of it and get the place looking all pretty and festive,  and play with a few ideas I have for zhushing up the table. In general, I plan to enjoy one of the only summery days we've had in ages!

Hope you all have a great day, and I'll catch you all soon.

I now have a MadeIt shop!

As well as my new Etsy store, I've also just opened a brand-new MadeIt shop.

MadeIt is an online buying and selling destination showcasing Australian artists, craftspeople and designers, and I love the idea of appealing to both international and Australian shoppers alike with a combination of storefronts and websites. Over the coming weeks, I'll be adding more items to both sites, and I'll also be featuring some works exclusively, so keep an eye on my Facebook page for all the updates. And if that's not enough, paintings won't be the only things on offer (yep, another teaser!), there will be insider sales and special offers as well, so stay tuned!

To kick off the new store, I've listed these prints:

     'Dynasty in Ming'

    'Ming in Indigo'

    'Chinoiserie in Green'

So pop on over, I'd love to see you there!

In the meantime, I'll leave you with a little reminder of a project I've been working on - remember this?

I'll reveal all next week - catch you then!

Bedroom Makeover Mark II...the saga

Cast your mind back about a month or so, and you might remember the makeover of my eldest daughter's room. Of course, things all and sundry have managed to slow things down to a snail's pace, but the painting is almost finished, and I'm now working on the fun stuff - all the details to be precise. In my travels, I came across this bed head, which I picked up for all of $15....score!

Now, I'm not sure whether we'll be using it in this room, as we're tossing up between this and a large painting. But for that price it was far too good to pass up, so we'll see. Either way, it will get a nice new cover, and I'm thinking how great it could look with new tufting, like this one by Bryn Alexandra:

...but as I'm rather partial to a print or two, I think it could look sensational like this:

    gorgeousness courtesy Les Indiennes

But of course, every decent teaser has a little twist in the tail, and a few surprises, so let's just say I'll be doing my own take on this look. I'm really trying to get this done, but with things being so crazy busy lately, it may take a little while longer to pull it all together.

Thank you too, for all your lovely comments, emails, (and orders!) on my paintings, and my new Etsy shop. You are wonderful. Can't say it enough.
