If you are designing an office it’s best to start by considering where your monitor is going to face in relation to the sunlight, generally at a 90 degree angle is said to be best. Once you have chosen where you will conduct all your work, you can plan around it with tables, cabinets & ergonomic chairs.
Finally if it’s a kitchen you are most likely gonna be restricted by gas/electricity/water supplies, so you ought to choose the home equipment first, then move onto stuff like lamps, breakfast bars, kitchen stools etc.
