Drift II

Well, I promised a peek at one of my new paintings, so here it is. It's pouring here in Brisbane at the moment, and with my dinky camera I'm having a terrible time trying to get a decent photo. I'm working on some new mixed-media works for my 'Drift' series, along with some different colourways, so when the weather clears I'll try to get some half decent shots!






With summer on its way, many of my recent works feature blues, greens, greys and whites - can you tell that I'm tired of winter and can't wait for the warmer weather to arrive?  Here are a few pictures from my inspiration board at the moment:

A big thank you

A few weeks ago, an email arrived from the lovely Kat over at Low Tide High Style. I'd only recently found her blog, and after commenting on a particularly touching post she'd written, she emailed me about doing an artist profile.

To say I was surprised was an understatement. I'm still blown away by the kindness and generosity of the blogging community, and Kat is definitely one of those genuinely lovely people. So after emailing back and forth, she contacted me yesterday to say that the interview had been posted, which you can read over here if you'd like to.

I just wanted to send Kat a huge thank you for being so generous and supportive.  And I also wanted to let everyone know what a great blog Kat has, and if you haven't visited before, you really are missing out. Here's a snippet:

James Gordon paintings

I've long been a fan of James Gordon. Not only is he a very talented artist, he's also an event planner extraordinaire. So I was thrilled when I saw he was involved in the Inside Out magazine charity art auction.
Take a look at some of his gorgeous paintings.
